Copywriting for creative entrepreneurs who want to grow their business authentically and meaningfully.
Here's My Origin Story.
Do you want to share your creative vision, but also make money? Are you turned off by empty buzzwords? What if you don’t want to crush your goals, but just grow your business in your own creative way?
I know the feeling! I’ve worked in marketing since 2003, and I’m also a lifelong creative. I understand the drive to make money using your creative talent. I also know what works in marketing. My experience helps me attune to your unique message, and create a customized content strategy.
Fun fact: The name “Samantha” means “listener” – and for me it’s accurate! I’ve been also described by young’uns as “chill.” I’m down-to-earth and curious, and spend time getting to know you and your project. This way, the content I create is effective and true to you.
So, who am I?
My mother claims I learned how to read when I was three. I can’t verify that, but my early memories definitely involved reading and writing. When I was six, I wrote my first “book” – it was eight pages long. It was about a girl who kept a secret litter of kittens under her bed.
Since then, my plots got more sophisticated, and my creative interests grew. I’m still writing fiction, I’ve been a serial blogger and website tinkerer for 20+ years, I made handmade zines in my twenties, and photography is my main creative hobby.
I’m grounded and pragmatic, but I’ve also spent decades inventing fictional worlds and characters. I love getting to know creatives and listening to their stories.
I’ve honed my copywriting skills in design agencies and even a ballet company. I’ve been a freelance writer since 2009, helping entrepreneurs and creatives uncover the heart of their stories. I’m obsessed with language, and love helping people weave creativity and business together.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually reading, wandering in the forest with my husband, playing a video game, taking photos, or boring my loved ones with a random historical fact (my favourite: Napoleon was actually 5′ 7″, which was average for the time!). A strong cup of Yorkshire Tea is my lifeblood, and my favourite food is Trinidadian doubles. I work from my sunny home office, with my dog snoring in her bed next to my desk.
“Grammar is a piano I play by ear … To shift the structure of a sentence alters the meaning of that sentence, as definitely and inflexibly as the position of a camera alters the meaning of the object photographed.”

I am proud to reinvest a portion of what I make into improving the lives of entrepreneurs living in poverty. Almost since the beginning of my freelancing career, I have made micro-loans through Kiva on behalf of my business. With these micro-loans, entrepreneurs can purchase resources and goods for their businesses, and strengthen their local communities.
