Do you have questions? I have answers.
What do you mean by "creative entrepreneur"?
To me, a creative entrepreneur is someone who’s building a business around a creative pursuit. And when I say “creative” here, I’m not suggesting that every entrepreneur isn’t creative, but this refers to work in the creative fields. Here are some examples of creative entrepreneurs:
- Photographers
- Writers, including indie authors
- Bloggers writing about topics like art, travel, fashion, or design
- Vloggers, podcasters, or other content creators
- Visual artists, like animators, painters, and illustrators
- Graphic or web designers
- Performing artists, like musicians and dancers
- Filmmakers
- Makers selling their creations to the public
- Creative coaches
Do you work with brand-new businesses?
Starting a small business is a major pursuit, one that involves many moving parts that can shift quickly in the early stages. My clients are creative entrepreneurs who have been in business for at least one year, and who have a good sense of how things are going so far. They can be more confident that the help I give them is truly what their business needs – and what they need.
Do you offer branding, blogging, or social media management?
No. There are geniuses out there who can visualize the outcomes and ROI of interlinked social media channels, and unfortunately I’m not one of them. I’ve been a website copywriter for years, and it’s what I’m best at. That said, I’m more than happy to incorporate your existing keywords and messaging into your website content to help it merge seamlessly with your social media strategy.
Where are you located?
I’m based in the Greater Toronto Area. However, most of my clients are based elsewhere in Canada, and in other countries. We communicate via email or Slack (which I check all the time during my business hours of 9am-5pm Eastern, Monday-Friday) and send electronic versions of documents back and forth. This means that my clients aren’t limited by physical location and choose to work with me because they feel I’m the best copywriter for them.
I live outside of Canada. Can we still work together?
Absolutely! I work successfully with clients in the US and overseas. (Oh, and if I may brag, I’m very good at knowing the differences between Canadian, American, and British English – so location won’t hold me back!)
Some things to keep in mind: All my rates are quoted in Canadian dollars, my office hours are 9am-5pm Eastern Time Monday-Friday, and observe all Canadian stat holidays.
How do I contact you?
As a virtual freelancer, I favour email communication instead of phone calls. I’m great with the written word and work best when writing something out or considering written instructions – it’s why I was so terrible in the food service industry! Messages like this ensure I have all your details and requirements in writing. This way, I can refer to them often when working on your project. You also have a reference point for notes I might have for you.
My office hours are 9am-5pm Eastern Time, Monday-Friday, and have my inbox open all day. You can leave me questions or comments, no matter what time it is for you.
